Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, is one of the most picturesque capitals in the world. The city of Kathmandu derives its name from Kasthamandap, an imposing wooden pagoda near the Hanuman Dhoka Palace. This city was built by King GunakamaDev in 723 AD. The original name of the city was Kantipur, the glamorous city. Kathmandu is situated at an altitude of 1,336 m above sea level, and surrounded by high mountains all around, with the white peaks looking down and can be viewed clearly from vantage points at the foothills around Kathmandu. The city of Kathmandu covers an area of more than 300 square kms and situated in the Kathmandu valley which also Kathmandu Nepal.

The magnificent temple of Lord Pashupatinath about 5 kms north-east of Kathmandu, is situated amidst many other temples on the right bank of the river Bagmati. Pashupathinath is the guardian spirit and the holiest of all Shiva shrines in Nepal.Lord Shiva is known by many different names; and Pashupati is one. Pashu means leaving beings, and Pati means master. In other words Pashupati is the master of all living beings of the universe.being a Hindu I could go inside the temple and can worship. I went with my with my wife she is a religious lady so took more then one hour to worship inside the templesif.photography is not prohibited in temple otherwise iI could make some more photos and can pass my time easily to wait my wife.There are more then twenty hindu god and goddess temple in Pasupetinath premises. Thousands of devotees from within and outside the country come to pay homage to Pashupatinath every day. And on special occasions like Ekadasi, Sankranti, Mahashivratri, TeejAkshaya, Rakshabandhan, Grahana (eclipse), Poornima (Full moon day) people congregate here in far greater number.
